New Location, Same Faithful God

Meet my friend, Heather.

She and her husband just recently moved here to Newnan. They were both excited for the new opportunities God was leading them into, but there was a whole of of uncertainty. They were faced with the reality of discomfort and uncertainty being their game plan as they just took one step of obedience to see what God had in store for them.

Heather's husband started his promised job, she found a job, and then they were able to move into a bedroom in a house with some friends, along with getting plugged into a local church and building new community. "All of these things have been great and such a blessing," Heather shared, "but it has truly been hard to adjust to a whole new way of life. I see God's goodness and faithfulness, but I was struggling with feeling hopeless and understand what He was trying to in and through me during this."

Heather then shared, "all of a sudden in the last few weeks, something in me has changed. I started understanding that it is okay to not be living in my ideal, admitting that, but then also thanking God and being grateful for what He has done and His faithful character. I have learned it is okay to feel both things at the same time, and then contentment and hope come in time."

Then just this week, some small blessings and change in situations began to happen. Heather and her husband were able to move into a more ideal living situation where they would be able to feel more "at home." Instead of a small bedroom, they were able to have a bigger space to make a living area and a bedroom. Heather shared, "this was an answered prayer in and of itself."

Although they still have some dreams and hopes to get them closer to their ideal living situation and heart for hospitality, she is grateful that she had the opportunity to see God's grace carry her through to feel hope in the midst of being in what felt like a hopeless situation.

She and her husband are excited to continue seeing God meet them in this whole transition, and His character is her hope in this season.
